The Canadian Journal of Chemistry (CJC) and the Canadian Society for Chemistry (CSC) have announced a partnership set to strengthen Canada’s vibrant chemistry community. Effective January 2025, this collaboration aims to enhance the visibility and impact of Canadian research within the global scientific landscape, while providing valuable opportunities for chemists across the country.
Combining their respective strengths, the partnership between CJC and CSC is designed to advance the field of chemistry in Canada. With its long-standing commitment to publishing excellence, the Canadian Journal of Chemistry, under the leadership of its Editors-in-Chief Yining Huang, Stacey Wetmore, and Alison Thompson, is poised to collaborate closely with CSC to ensure Canadian chemists remain at the forefront of innovation and discovery.
As part of this initiative, CSC members will gain access to valuable publishing opportunities, including discounted subscription rates to CJC and streamlined notifications about Calls for Papers and Special Issues through the CSC newsletter. The partnership will also increase the visibility of CJC awards and grants, ensuring more support is directed toward the Canadian chemistry community.
Additional benefits include webinars and workshops covering topics such as open access, open science, and peer review, offering CSC members a chance to connect, learn, and contribute to the growing field. Canadian researchers and CSC members will also have opportunities for promotion, including features on journal covers and blog posts to highlight impactful papers.
Canadian chemists are encouraged to join the Canadian Society for Chemistry to take full advantage of this partnership. Membership details, including pricing and options, are available at cheminst.ca.
Through this collaboration, the CSC and CJC aim to elevate the profile of Canadian chemists and their research both nationally and globally, fostering a thriving community dedicated to scientific excellence.
