Canadian Science Publishing and ArcticNet renew partnership to support Arctic research -

Canadian Science Publishing (CSP) and ArcticNet have formalized a new three‑year memorandum of understanding to advance Arctic research. The agreement builds on more than a decade of collaboration between the two organizations, including CSP’s participation in ArcticNet’s Annual Scientific Meeting.

The renewed partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening northern scholarship and supporting the next generation of researchers. It includes initiatives such as webinars, workshops, and resources for early‑career ArcticNet members to better understand publication and peer review processes. CSP will also support new collections and symposium proposals, with a focus on those led by early‑career researchers, and continue engagement with ArcticNet’s annual meeting.

ArcticNet CEO Dr. Pierre Bilodeau noted that the partnership enhances the organization’s ability to connect Arctic research with broader audiences. He emphasized that publishing plays a critical role in knowledge exchange and that the collaboration will help extend the reach of northern research to inform policy and practice.

Hilary Belleville, Interim Editorial Director for CSP’s Biological and Environmental Sciences portfolio, stated that formalizing the relationship with ArcticNet strengthens support for the Arctic research community. She highlighted the importance of providing publishing guidance, knowledge sharing, and opportunities to amplify northern research, particularly for early‑career scholars.

The partnership involves three CSP journals: Arctic Science, FACETS, and Contaminants, Environment, and Society. CSP acknowledged the contributions of ArcticNet’s leadership team, including Dr. Bilodeau, Vice President of Research Dr. Christine Barnard, and Communications and Events Manager Marie‑Claude Paradis, in developing the agreement.
