Cape Breton University joins ORCID Canada Consortium to enhance research integration -

The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) and the ORCID Canada (ORCID-CA) Consortium have announced that Cape Breton University (CBU) has joined the ORCID Canada Consortium. This partnership marks a significant step in supporting the university's research community by streamlining researcher identification and enhancing research management capabilities.

Known for its dynamic programs and commitment to community, Indigenous learning, and environmental research, Cape Breton University serves students from over 80 countries. The institution plans to integrate ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) with its new institutional repository and research management software, helping researchers better track their work and measure their impact.

Joining the ORCID-CA Consortium, which includes over 50 Canadian universities, funders, and research organizations, gives CBU access to dedicated bilingual support, community resources, and premium API credentials. These tools will facilitate smoother research workflows and foster greater collaboration within the Canadian research community.

The move highlights Cape Breton University’s commitment to supporting its researchers and strengthening its growing national and international reputation in fields like liberal arts, business, health, education, science, and technology.
