Non-profit copyright licensing solution provider Copyright Clearance Center (CCC), US, has announced a partnership with Reprints Desk, Inc., a US-based content re-purposing company focused on medical and scientific publishing. This partnership will initially focus on integrating Rightsphere, CCC's rights management solution with the STM Document Delivery service from Reprints Desk.
Companies that adopt an integrated Rightsphere-STM Document Delivery solution will make it easier for their corporate researchers and other knowledge professionals to share scientific, technical, and medical (STM) content in a copyright-compliant manner. Rightsphere customers who purchase peer-reviewed journal articles via Reprints Desk will be able to find out what rights they have to use and share this high value content. Reprints Desk will enable users to check the rights status of the content against CCC's Rightsphere database without having to leave the document delivery workflow.
Rightsphere is a web-based application that allows information managers and corporate librarians to consolidate, organise and manage rights at a highly granular level, ensuring immediate, accurate answers that fully leverage the value of content licenses. Launched in 2006, the application has been adopted by players in the pharmaceutical, aerospace and consumer goods industries.
