CCC integrates ‘Get It Now’ article delivery with EBSCO Discovery Service -

CCC has expanded its strategic agreement with EBSCO Information Services to integrate its ‘Get It Now’ article delivery service into the EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) platform. This integration enables students, faculty, and researchers at subscribing academic institutions to access and request individual scholarly articles directly through the EDS interface.

EDS, widely used in academic settings, combines advanced search functions with direct access to full-text content where available through library subscriptions. When a searched item falls outside the institution’s licensed holdings, EDS now offers a direct link to ‘Get It Now,’ allowing immediate article purchase and delivery. This provides an alternative to traditional interlibrary loan services, reducing delays and supporting more efficient research workflows.

CCC stated that this development responds to longstanding institutional needs by enabling seamless discovery and access to non-subscribed journal content. EBSCO noted that the integration supports continuous access to high-quality resources, regardless of existing library subscriptions, thereby enhancing academic productivity.

CCC and EBSCO have collaborated on academic and corporate content delivery solutions for several years. This latest development continues that partnership, aiming to streamline scholarly communication and simplify access to licensed journal content.

Alongside ‘Get It Now,’ CCC offers additional licensing and content access solutions for the academic sector, including the Annual Copyright License for Higher Education, Pay-Per-Use Permissions Service, and RightFind Curriculum. The organization also engages globally in copyright education, policy advocacy, and licensing strategy through its initiatives and platforms.
