CERN selects Web of Knowledge from Thomson Reuters -

Business information provider Thomson Reuters, US, has announced that the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) has selected Web of Knowledge. CERN claims to be one of the world's largest and most respected centers for scientific research.

Following a competitive bidding process, CERN selected Web of Knowledge complete with Web of Science, Journal Citation Reports and Conference Proceedings Citation Index. CERN will use the Web of Knowledge solution to facilitate the discovery and retrieval of literature outside of its core field of high energy physics.

Web of Knowledge will provide CERN with access to the world's leading research citation databases, which include more than 12,000 of the most influential journals worldwide and research dating back to 1900. The databases will be the main point of access to scientific literature for engineers involved with constructing and maintaining the experimental equipment used at the laboratory.
