The Charlesworth Group has been chosen by Johns Hopkins University Center for Communication Programs (JHUCCP) to help launch and provide XML typesetting services for the latter's new online open access journal, Global Health: Science and Practice (GHSP). The new journal is using Charlesworth Group's XML production workflow, tailored to JHUCCP's goals and specifications, to publish original papers aimed to improve health practice, especially in low and middle-income countries.
GHSP was developed for global health professionals, particularly programme implementers, to validate their experiences and programme results by peer reviewers and to share them with the greater global health community. With development help from Charlesworth Group, GHSP was launched in March 2013 and expects to publish four issues per year, the first of which is now available online.
The Charlesworth Group is claimed to be well-known for its expertise and high standards in the publishing industry. It aims to offer superior tools and services related to XML typesetting and production management, and also ePub production, copy-editing, language editing for non-native English speaking authors and translation services. The Charlesworth Group supports JHUCCP and other international publishers in their efforts to bring new science to light quickly in forms that researchers, policymakers and the public can access and use. The Group will be attending the Council of Science Editors' 2013 annual meeting in Montreal, Canada this year.
