Clarivate Plc has entered into a multi-year agreement with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Iraq aimed at advancing the country’s national research and innovation objectives.
Under the agreement, the collaboration will provide strategic guidance, data and analytics, and skills development to help align institutional research outputs with national priorities. The engagement is intended to support the development of long-term research practices and institutional excellence across participating universities.
As part of the collaboration, Clarivate will deliver high-level analysis of Iraq’s research landscape using Web of Science data and insights. This analysis will be used to identify priority research areas and support evidence-based decision-making within the ministry and across participating institutions.
A selected group of institutions will receive tailored strategies to strengthen research performance, supported by workshops focused on research quality, impact, grant writing, rankings, and commercialization. In addition, a national Researchers’ Academy will be established to build capacity through a year-long program centered on core research and teaching competencies.
