Clarivate and ODIN launch resource sharing network across Dakotas -

Clarivate Plc has announced that the Online Dakota Information Network (ODIN) has selected its Rapido library resource sharing platform to establish a multi‑state network across North and South Dakota.

The new cloud‑based system will connect more than 200 academic, public, state, school, and special libraries of varying sizes, each operating different library management systems, into a single resource sharing network. The platform is designed to expand access to collections and improve borrowing and lending efficiency across communities in both states. The initiative is supported and administered by ODIN, part of the North Dakota University System Core Technology Services, and jointly sponsored by the North Dakota State Library and the South Dakota State Library.

Yoel Goldenberg, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Library Software at Clarivate, stated that the project illustrates what can be achieved when libraries collaborate across institutional and state boundaries. He emphasized that the initiative will help remove barriers to resource sharing and enable libraries in both states to better serve their communities.

The Dakotas initiative marks a significant milestone for Rapido, demonstrating how statewide and regional organizations can build collaborative resource sharing networks across multiple library systems. The new platform is expected to go live in the second half of 2027.
