Clarivate completes sale of Life Sciences and Healthcare Business to Altaris -

Clarivate has completed the sale of its Life Sciences & Healthcare segment to Altaris, marking a significant step in the company's ongoing strategic transformation and portfolio simplification efforts.

The transaction, valued at $600 million, was initially announced on July 6, 2026. Following the completion of the sale, Clarivate will concentrate on its two core business segments: Academia & Government and Intellectual Property.

According to the company, the divestiture supports its transition toward a more focused, subscription-based business centered on proprietary data, authoritative content, AI-powered intelligence solutions, workflow software, and technology-enabled services. The streamlined structure is intended to support customers across research, education, innovation, and intellectual property management.

Matti Shem Tov, Chief Executive Officer of Clarivate, described the transaction as an important milestone in the company's transformation strategy. He stated that the sale advances Clarivate's value creation objectives by narrowing its focus, simplifying its business portfolio, and strengthening its financial position. According to Shem Tov, the company is now better positioned to concentrate on two market-leading segments while expanding AI-driven innovation capabilities.

Clarivate previously indicated that proceeds from the sale would primarily be used to reduce debt and strengthen the company's balance sheet. The company believes the transaction will improve financial flexibility, support profitability initiatives, and reinforce its long-term growth strategy.

Clarivate also announced that it will report its third-quarter 2026 financial results on November 3, 2026, and plans to update its full-year guidance to reflect the impact of the divestiture.
