Clarivate Plc, a global leader in providing trusted intelligence and insights, has announced the integration of ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global with its renowned Web of Science platform. This integration brings together a vast collection of over 5.5 million global dissertations and theses, offering researchers quick and easy access to early career scholarship across multiple disciplines.
The newly launched solution, ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Citation Index, enhances the research experience by providing seamless access to early career research alongside journals, preprints, and other scholarly sources within a single platform. By consolidating multiple databases, researchers benefit from a streamlined workflow that enhances academic success and drives further advancements in research.
Responding to user feedback and demands, Clarivate conducted a survey among Web of Science users, which revealed dissertations and theses as the most sought-after source of secondary content. In line with these findings, Clarivate integrated ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global with the Web of Science, providing researchers with access to a diverse collection of early career scholarship from more than 4,100 institutions across 60+ countries. Mutual customers of both platforms will enjoy seamless access to over three million full-text documents on the ProQuest platform.
With this integration, the Web of Science platform becomes enriched with millions of dissertations and theses, complementing journal articles, research data, patents, and preprints. Researchers and students can conduct more comprehensive literature reviews by incorporating unpublished scholarship and gaining diverse perspectives. Embracing both positive and negative scientific findings is crucial for advancing knowledge, as it allows researchers to access a comprehensive view of available scientific evidence and avoid duplicating efforts in subsequent research.
Additionally, researchers can showcase their early career achievements by claiming their dissertations or theses in their Web of Science Researcher Profile. Clarivate is actively working to further enhance the connections between dissertations and the Web of Science platform by adding Linked Cited References and Related Records, scheduled for release by Q4 2023.
Clarivate's integration of ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Global with the Web of Science platform reinforces its commitment to providing researchers with comprehensive and trusted content and tools. By empowering researchers with access to a wide range of early career scholarship, Clarivate aims to drive research excellence and facilitate knowledge advancement across various disciplines.
