Kinokuniya Company Ltd has been selected by Clarivate, a global provider of transformative intelligence, as the exclusive national partner for delivering ProQuest Ebooks and ProQuest Central Premium in Japan. Effective immediately, this enhanced agreement enables librarians, researchers, and faculty across Japanese institutions to access a comprehensive collection of academic resources via subscription.
Kinokuniya, a long-standing supplier of educational materials to Japanese academic institutions, has collaborated with ProQuest—now part of Clarivate—for over five decades. This agreement builds on that history by ensuring uninterrupted, cost-efficient access to essential scholarly content.
The ProQuest Ebooks collection includes more than 700,000 titles spanning multiple disciplines. ProQuest Central Premium offers extensive full-text content drawn from journals, magazines, news sources, trade publications, case studies, and industry and market reports.
Kinokuniya’s chairman underscored that the partnership reinforces their enduring relationship with Clarivate and supports the growth of Japan’s research ecosystem. He noted that the launch of ProQuest Ebooks and Central Premium will bring significant value to Japanese researchers and students by enriching their academic resources.
