ClinicalKey AI recognized with 2025 AI Innovation Award by MedTech Breakthrough -

Elsevier, a global provider of health information and analytics, has received the 2025 “AI Innovation Award” from MedTech Breakthrough for its ClinicalKey AI clinical decision support platform. This marks the second consecutive year the solution has been recognized in the annual awards program.

ClinicalKey AI was selected for its integration of evidence-based clinical content with a generative AI-powered conversational interface designed to assist clinicians at the point of care. The tool synthesizes content from regularly updated, vetted sources and delivers responses that include citations and references to the underlying evidence base.

Since receiving its previous award, ClinicalKey AI has expanded to more than 50 countries. Enhancements over the past year include deeper workflow integration for clinical settings, new functionality for tracking continuing medical education (CME) and maintenance of certification (MOC), and expanded content coverage featuring full-text guidelines and journal articles.

Elsevier noted that the platform’s design emphasizes exclusive reliance on trusted medical sources, aiming to support clinician decision-making and increase confidence in patient care practices. Additional recent updates include the incorporation of practice guidelines from the American College of Cardiology (ACC), which allows users to access structured, summarized insights in response to cardiology-related queries.

The MedTech Breakthrough Awards, now in their ninth year, recognize developments across various domains in digital health and medical technology. The 2025 edition received a record volume of submissions from organizations across more than 18 countries, spanning areas such as telehealth, electronic health records, virtual care, patient engagement, and clinical administration.
