The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) has announced that the Center for Research Libraries (CRL) has transferred the Canadiana.org Trustworthy Digital Repository (TDR) certification to CRKN. This transfer is a result of the merger between CRKN and Canadiana.org in April 2018.
The Canadiana TDR was first certified in 2015 and is one of only six certified Trustworthy Digital Repositories in the world. The Canadiana TDR houses over 60 million pages of documentary heritage content and contributes to research infrastructure by preserving this valuable content, as well as content preserved on behalf of CRKN members and stakeholders, for generations to come.
According to Rebecca Graham, University Librarian at the University of Guelph and Chair of the CRKN Preservation and Access Committee (PAC), with certification now transferred to CRKN, there is now an opportunity to offer the services of the TDR to the institutions and organisations that acquire, collect, digitise, and preserve the content that is of greatest value to Canadians and researchers.
