Dade Medical College and its learning affiliate University of Southernmost Florida are poised to launch a new academic venture this summer with the formation of the Southernmost University Press. The launch will encompass a significant investment of long-term capital by the institutions, and represents a continuation of the organisations' dedication to the educational development of its students, as well as provide a platform for current and future faculty to contribute both literary and academic works.
Dade Medical College has been focused on providing students the very best in quality, outcome-based education for more than 15 years. By customizing textbooks to compliment curriculums, students will benefit greatly when it comes time to obtaining their respective certifications. These new text tools will help students be more knowledgeable upon graduation and assist them in crossing the true academic finish line which is, professional certification.
The new Fundamentals of Psychology textbook, written DMC's Professor Ana Montano, B.S., M.A., Psychology, will be the maiden release from the Southernmost University Press. A college-level introduction to psychology, it is written with students in mind; the book features many practical, real-life examples that help to connect the students to the material. It meets the many key criteria for general introduction to psychology courses according to the college's accrediting bodyAccrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools. Distribution of the text books will initially encompass DMC and USMF's combined 2000+ students, but will eventually branch out to include other colleges and universities. Four more titles are planned for release during 2014.
