Digital Science to provide Dimensions access to users at Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology -

Research technology company Digital Science and the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech) have announced an agreement that will provide Dimensions access to users across the institution. Dimensions is a linked-research data platform that provides access to more than 140 million contextualised and integrated research outputs and enables researchers at the university to discover their connections for the most complete view of the research landscape.

Developed in partnership with over 100 leading research organisations around the world, including Skoltech, Dimensions enables users to explore over 99 million publications, $1.3tn of grants, 450,000 clinical trials, 38 million patents, 380,000 policy documents, and their associated metrics. Powerful search, visualisations and reporting functionality make it easy to track research and funding trends, compare performance and research outcomes, and inform strategic planning.

With the Dimensions implementation, Skoltech will be able to utilise the data for collection analysis to optimise journal subscriptions, evaluate and support grant application development and dive deeper into the data to reveal current academic collaborations and find opportunities for new ones.

According to Professor Maxim Fedorov, Director of the Centre for Computational and Data-Intensive Science and Engineering (CDISE), Skoltech, adopting Dimensions integrates well with their advanced research and educational practices, with particular emphasis on applications of artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analysis and high-performance computing in entrepreneurship and innovation. The ability to connect the publication data with other valuable content types such as the funding and patent landscapes will support evidence for the researcher’s impact and future grant eligibility. It also helps them to shape their research and innovation strategies.
