EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) and Get Full Text Research (GetFTR) have announced a partnership designed to connect open web discovery with access to full text on EBSCOhost. The integration aims to simplify the path from discovery to library‑enabled access for researchers worldwide. Through this collaboration, researchers at more than 70,000 institutions gain clearer visibility into full‑text availability via their libraries, with direct links to content hosted on EBSCOhost. When supported content is discovered on the open web or in other discovery environments, GetFTR indicators signal availability and direct users to the version of record. EBSCO became the first aggregator to partner with GetFTR, extending the visibility of its content beyond traditional library interfaces. The integration is expected to provide additional routes to tens of millions of articles, making evidence‑based content more accessible at the point of discovery across a growing range of research tools and platforms. GetFTR, a publisher‑led service, enables discovery tools to check access rights at the DOI level in real time and return links to the most appropriate source, including open access, free‑to‑read, and entitled subscription content. Adding EBSCOhost as a destination creates another trusted pathway from discovery to full text. Researchers are expected to see an increase in GetFTR links across the platforms they already use, providing streamlined access to trusted content on EBSCOhost and surfacing integrity signals at the point of discovery.
