EBSCO Clinical Decisions has announced a partnership with the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) to strengthen evidence-based practice in women’s health, obstetric, and neonatal nursing. The collaboration was introduced at the 2026 AWHONN Convention and will integrate AWHONN’s expert clinical validation into EBSCO’s Dynamic Health™ platform.
Dynamic Health is designed to provide nurses and allied health professionals with evidence-based resources to support skill development and point-of-care decision-making. Through this partnership, AWHONN subject matter experts will review specialized nursing content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with current clinical standards. The initiative aims to provide frontline nurses with validated knowledge that supports standardized care delivery and improved patient outcomes.
Diane Hanson, Chief Nursing Officer at EBSCO and Editor in Chief of Dynamic Health, explained that the collaboration strengthens the connection between research and clinical practice. She noted that integrating AWHONN’s expertise ensures that everyday nursing competencies are validated to improve outcomes for mothers and newborns.
The partnership introduces several measures to enhance nursing practice:
• Expert clinical validation: AWHONN experts will conduct detailed reviews of nursing skills within Dynamic Health, providing evidence-based recommendations to align content with best practices.
• Sustained clinical integrity: Reviewed content will undergo annual re-evaluation or updates based on new evidence, ensuring continued alignment with guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Seamless point-of-care access: Integration with electronic medical records (EMRs) and learning management systems (LMS) will provide nurses with fast, accurate answers within clinical workflows.
• AI-enhanced discovery: EBSCO’s Dyna AI tool will enable natural language navigation of Dynamic Health, allowing nurses to quickly locate AWHONN-validated skills.
Matthew Keen, Product Manager at EBSCO, stated that the integration reflects the organization’s commitment to optimizing systems to meet demand, enhance discoverability, and support research impact. He indicated that institutional customers would benefit from seamless access and improved utilization of validated nursing content.
