EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) and IWA have partnered to support libraries adopting the open-source provider FOLIO Library Services Platform (LSP). EBSCO and IWA will work together to provide reliable hosting and support services to libraries in Finland and the Scandinavian region.
IWA is an IT-consultancy that helps organisations create optimal user experience through technical expertise and experience in Finland and the Scandinavian region. Their expertise has expanded to support open-source resources. IWA is currently using the same open-source tools that are being used to create FOLIO. Through the partnership with EBSCO, IWA will support libraries looking to adopt the FOLIO LSP. By supporting FOLIO in libraries, IWA will help increase the adoption of the open-source resource in the region, supporting libraries looking for choice.
In addition to working with established open-source service providers, EBSCO provides hosting services and advanced software support, and a variety of data integration services for libraries adopting the FOLIO LSP.
FOLIO encompasses a community of librarians, developers, and service providers who have joined special interest groups actively creating the open-source LSP that supports traditional ILS functionality with the ability to add additional value and services. The applications are modular and allow multiple vendors or libraries to contribute applications.
