EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) and Implementers have partnered to support libraries adopting the FOLIO Library Services Platform (LSP). EBSCO and Implementers will work together to provide reliable hosting and support services locally.
Currently, Implementers supports libraries in using Koha and DSpace in Lebanon and the Middle East. By supporting FOLIO libraries, Implementers will help increase the adoption of FOLIO and provide additional services to their current customers.
EBSCO supports FOLIO with funding, developers and project management, as well as providing support for Koha’s open source development. In addition to working with established open source services providers, EBSCO also provides hosting services and advanced software support, as well as a variety of data integration services for libraries adopting the FOLIO LSP.
According to Mark Allcock, EBSCO Information Services Director of FOLIO Partnerships, the recent agreements between EBSCO and open source providers adds value to the customer service offered by EBSCO during FOLIO implementations around the world.
FOLIO encompasses a community of librarians and developers who have joined special interest groups in actively creating an open source LSP that supports traditional ILS functionality with the ability to add additional value and services. The applications are modular and allow multiple vendors or libraries to contribute applications.
