EIFL and SAGE Publications extend agreement for Sage Research Methods and Research Methods Cases -

Electronic Information for Libraries (EIFL) has signed a renewal agreement with SAGE Publications for SAGE Research Methods and SAGE Research Methods Cases.

SAGE Research Methods allows students to explore different concepts of research methods, which can help them to design their research projects, understand particular methods, or identify useful new methods. As a result, students can conduct their research and write up their findings in a more efficient and structured way.

SAGE Research Methods contains content from: 1,022 books currently live, include books, handbooks, Little Green and Little Blue Books, and Major Works; 17 reference works provide dictionary definitions and encyclopedia entries; and 83 videos. The addition of 50 new titles as well as a complete platform overhaul are planned for 2022.

SAGE Research Methods Cases are stories of how real research projects were conducted. The collection provides more than 2200 case studies, showing the challenges and successes of doing research, written by the researchers themselves. They explain why the researchers chose the methods they did, how they overcame problems in their research and what they might have done differently with hindsight: the realities of research that are missing from journal articles and textbooks. Cases are peer-reviewed and come with pedagogical tools including learning objectives and discussions questions. They can be used as a teaching tool to demonstrate a particular method and how it is applied in real research, or as inspiration to students who are preparing for their own research project.

The agreement runs until December 2018 and is open to libraries and consortia in 32 EIFL partner countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, DR Congo, Estonia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Latvia, Lesotho, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malawi, Maldives, Moldova, Myanmar, Nepal, Palestine, Senegal, Serbia, Slovenia, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Ukraine, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
