EIFL has renewed its agreement with Sage Publishing for access to and publishing in Sage journals for an additional three years, extending through December 2028. The agreement includes free and discounted access to the Sage Premier collection, waived or discounted Article Processing Charges (APCs), and a read-and-publish component for eligible institutions.
Under the renewed agreement, libraries in 11 EIFL partner countries will continue to receive free access to the Sage Premier collection of more than 935 peer-reviewed journals. The countries include Armenia, Congo DR, Ethiopia, Georgia, Myanmar, Palestine, Senegal, Sudan, Tanzania, Ukraine and Zambia.
Libraries in 12 countries remain eligible for discounted access to the collection, including Albania, Estonia, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Maldives, Moldova, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia and Uzbekistan.
The agreement also offers a read-and-publish component for institutions in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Serbia and Slovenia that sign the arrangement. Participating institutions will receive access to subscribed SAGE Premier collection, free open access publishing in Sage Choice hybrid journals within subscribed collections, and a 20% APC discount for Gold open access journals.
Waived APCs will continue for corresponding authors from 20 EIFL partner countries publishing in Sage Gold open access journals. A 50% APC discount will apply from 2026 for authors from 11 additional partner countries.
The renewed agreement maintains wide-ranging support for access to scholarly publications and open access publishing across participating countries.
