EIFL, a global not-for-profit organization dedicated to enabling access to knowledge in developing and transition countries, has announced the renewal of its partnership agreement with Wolters Kluwer. The extended agreement, effective until December 31, 2024, focuses on providing waived and discounted Article Processing Charges (APCs) for researchers across various medical scientific disciplines.
The agreement covers two fully open-access journals under Wolters Kluwer Health - Medicine, and Medicine: Case Reports and Study Protocols.
Corresponding authors hailing from 20 EIFL partner countries will continue to benefit from the opportunity to publish accepted research articles in the specified journals without incurring any APCs. This initiative aims to eliminate financial barriers, enabling researchers to disseminate their work freely.
Additionally, corresponding authors from 12 EIFL partner countries can avail themselves of the opportunity to publish accepted research articles in the specified journals at a discounted rate. This ensures a more affordable avenue for researchers to contribute to open-access publications.
This collaborative effort between EIFL and Wolters Kluwer underscores their commitment to fostering equitable access to open-access publishing opportunities. By extending the availability of waived and discounted APCs, researchers from diverse geographic regions can contribute to the global scientific community without facing financial barriers.
EIFL continues to champion initiatives that facilitate knowledge sharing and accessibility, particularly in regions where resources may be limited. The renewed agreement with Wolters Kluwer aligns with EIFL's mission to empower researchers and advance scholarly communication across the medical and scientific landscape.
