EIFL renews agreement with Royal Society Publishing -

EIFL has renewed the agreement with Royal Society Publishing for a further three years until December 2026. The agreement provides EIFL partner countries with free or deeply discounted access to eight high-impact journals in the physical and biological sciences, and waived Article Processing Charges (APCs) for open access publishing in fully open access and hybrid journals.

Countries that are eligible for free access - Armenia, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lesotho, Malawi, Maldives, Moldova, Myanmar, Nepal, Palestine, Senegal, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

Countries that are eligible for discounted access - Albania, Azerbaijan, Botswana, Estonia, Fiji, Kosova, Latvia, Lithuania, Namibia, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia, Thailand.

As in the previous agreement, authors from 32 EIFL partner countries can publish in open access for free in one of the Royal Society Publishing’s two fully open-access journals: Open Biology and Royal Society Open Science. Now, from August 2023, these authors can also publish in open access in eight of the Royal Society Publishing’s hybrid journals: Biology Letters; Notes and Records; Interface; Interface Focus; Proceedings A; Proceedings B; Philosophical Transactions A; and Philosophical Transactions B.

Corresponding authors from the following countries will be eligible for waived APCs –Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Botswana, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Fiji, Georgia, Ghana, Kenya, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lesotho, Malawi, Maldives, Moldova, Myanmar, Namibia, Nepal, North Macedonia, Palestine, Senegal, Serbia, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
