STM publisher Elsevier, Netherlands, has announced the acquisition of the publishing assets of William Andrew, Inc. (William Andrew). William Andrew is an independent, mid-size publisher of technical and scientific materials that include applied science handbooks, references, and databases that promote knowledge, technology, and productivity, allowing individuals, markets, and societies to reach their full potential around the globe. The company appointed Elsevier to be its exclusive distributor in all countries outside of North America in 2007.

Some of the forthcoming titles from William Andrew and Elsevier include Nanotechnology Applications for Clean Water, Skin Aging Handbook, Handbook of Plastics Joining 2E, Tigers of the World 2E, Engineering Documentation Control 3E and Human Toxicology of Chemical Mixtures.
