STM publisher Elsevier will be collaborating with Grand Valley State University's Kirkhof College of Nursing (KCON) on quality improvement and research studies that measure outcomes associated with the implementation of Elsevier's Clinical Practice Model (CPM) Framework. The research, which will expand opportunities for GVSU nursing students and faculty members, will be coordinated through the Bonnie Wesorick Center for Healthcare Transformation, a dedicated interprofessional setting within KCON.
The Elsevier CPM Framework helps guide sustainable healthcare transformation. It is supported by core beliefs, principles, theories and healthcare best practices that have all been synthesised into concise models that help clinicians and leaders effect sustainable change across a healthcare organisation. This transformation leads to positive outcomes for patients and families, caregivers and the healthcare community at large.
Michelle Troseth, MSN, RN, DPNAP, FAAN, Chief Professional Practice Officer, Elsevier Clinical Solutions, notes that the collaboration with KCON will accelerate healthcare improvements by leveraging a transformational framework-driven approach. She added that research projects will include focus areas of evidence-based practice, health informatics, interprofessional integration and collaborative cultures, as well as the impact of a holistic healthcare approach over time.
In addition to collaborative research projects, KCON students and faculty members will engage in learning experiences at various Elsevier client facilities, and will co-present research project outcomes at conferences.
