STM publisher Elsevier, Netherlands, and the Society of Biological Psychiatry (SOBP) have renewed their publishing agreement. Under the deal, Elsevier will continue to provide publishing services for the society's journal Biological Psychiatry. The SOBP and Elsevier have worked together continuously since 1983.
Biological Psychiatry is published twice a month and is the official journal of SOBP, whose purpose is to promote excellence in scientific research and education in fields that investigate the nature, causes, mechanisms and treatments of disorders of thought, emotion, or behaviour. The journal has a 2011 Impact Factor of 8.283 and ranks 5 of 129 journals in the Psychiatry category and 16 of 243 journals in Neurosciences according to the Journal Citations Reports published by Thomson Reuters.
As part of the agreement, a new 'digital edition' of Biological Psychiatry will be sent to subscribers later this year.
