Elsevier and the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine announce publishing partnership -

STM publisher Elsevier, Netherlands, has announced a partnership with the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine (APM) to publish the latter's official journal - Psychosomatics. The announcement was made at the annual APM meeting in Marco Island, Florida.

The partnership marks an important move by the APM and Elsevier to increase the reach of the journal, particularly to a new generation of psychiatrists, and to promote consultation-liaison psychiatry as a field of growing importance. Elsevier will begin publication of the journal as of the first issue of 2011.

Elsevier's extensive network of global resources and publishing solutions, including Sciverse ScienceDirect, a premier full-text scientific database with more than 10 million peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters and archives dating back as far as 1823, will help APM increase the reach and growth of Psychosomatics worldwide. The new partnership also adds important content to the Elsevier portfolio, enabling the publisher to continue its growth as the market leader in psychiatry journal publishing in North America and internationally.

Published six times a year, Psychosomatics: The Journal of Consultation and Liaison Psychiatry is edited by Dr. Theodore A. Stern, Chief of the Psychiatric Consultation Service at Massachusetts General Hospital and Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.
