STM publisher Elsevier has announced that it has been selected by the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM) to publish its flagship journal, The Journal of Sexual Medicine, as well as Sexual Medicine Reviews and open access journal Sexual Medicine, as of January 2016.
The Journal of Sexual Medicine (JSM) is the premier, authoritative publication in the field, publishing high-impact multidisciplinary basic and clinical science in monthly issues. Sexual Medicine Reviews is a quarterly journal, commissioning evidence-based reviews in order to synthesize clinical and translational research to distill the best available evidence in the field. Sexual Medicine is ISSM's most recent publication. Launched in 2014 as an OA journal, it ensures rapid dissemination of multidisciplinary clinical and basic research in all areas of global sexual medicine.
The International Society for Sexual Medicine was established in 1978. The goals of the ISSM are to encourage the highest standards of practice, education, and research in the field of human sexuality; to develop and assist in developing scientific methods for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of conditions affecting human sexual function; and to promote the publication and encourage contributions to the medical and scientific literature in the field of sexual function. The ISSM has over 2,000 members from all five continents and 89 nations.
