STM publisher Elsevier, Netherlands, has announced that it has entered into an agreement with the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry (AAGP) to publish The American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry (AJGP), beginning in January 2013.
AJGP is the authoritative source of information for the rapidly developing field of geriatric psychiatry. Each monthly issue contains peer-reviewed articles on the diagnosis and classification of psychiatric disorders in later life, epidemiological and biological correlates of mental health of older adults, and psychopharmacology and other somatic treatments.
With a 3.566 Impact Factor, the journal ranks in the top third of both the Psychiatry and Geriatrics/Gerontology categories according to Thomson Reuters’ Journal Citation Reports. It is anticipated that AJGP’s position as the premier journal devoted specifically to geriatric psychiatry will be strengthened through this new association, benefiting authors, editors, reviewers, and readership.
