STM publisher Elsevier, Netherlands, has announced that the Australian Research Council has selected SciVerse Scopus for the third time as the sole citation provider for the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) assessment for 2012.
ERA is an Australian Government initiative to assess the quality of research undertaken in Australia's higher education institutions, using a combination of indicators and expert review by internationally-recognised researchers with expertise in research evaluation. The 2009 ERA trial covered two discipline clusters, namely Physics, Chemistry and Earth Sciences (PCE) and Humanities and Creative Arts (HCA). In 2010, the full ERA process was conducted.
The ERA 2012 assessment will open for submissions in March 2012 for all participating Higher Education providers. Further details about ERA 2012 are available at http://www.arc.gov.au/era/default.htm.
The Australian Research Council is a statutory authority within the Australian Government's Innovation, Industry, Science and Research portfolio. It advises the Australian Government on research matters and manages the National Competitive Grants Program, a significant component of Australia's investment in research and development.
