The English Language Teaching (ELT) division of Cambridge University Press has engaged Gutenberg Technology to provide students and adult learners around the world access to their award-winning products and services on a range of mobile devices and platforms.
The Cambridge Bookshelf, designed and built by Gutenberg Technology, comes loaded with interactive tools and features designed to exploit the full functionality of the EPUB 3 standard adopted by the Press's ELT division. Cambridge ELT and Gutenberg Technology provided a preview of the bookshelf app at the annual conference of the IDPF, the standard-setting organisation for EPUB 3.
Created in 2010, Gutenberg Technology offers publishers a unique SaaS platform to produce digital textbooks or non-linear books on tablets, smartphone or web. All the content is broken into Learning Objects, that can be tagged and later reused for any other purpose.
