Emerald Publishing acquires now publishers to expand subject coverage in business, economics, and computer science -

Emerald Publishing has acquired now publishers, a specialist academic publisher established in 2004, known for its contributions in business, economics, computer science, and engineering. The acquisition includes more than 50 books, 14 peer-reviewed journals, and 28 serial titles from the Foundations and Trends® (FnT) collection. This portfolio includes several highly ranked journals, such as FnT Machine Learning, which holds a top position in Scimago's computer science category.

The addition strengthens Emerald’s existing journal offerings in business and economics while broadening its reach into adjacent disciplines. The Foundations and Trends® series, recognized for publishing extended surveys and monographs, is seen as a significant enhancement to Emerald’s content portfolio.

The decision to integrate with a larger organization was driven by the need to address evolving technological and market challenges. now publishers sought a partner aligned in editorial philosophy and capable of supporting its operational infrastructure. The acquisition provides access to broader distribution and sales capabilities, ensuring continued support for authors, editors, and the wider academic community.

Emerald indicated that the acquisition aligns with its focus on delivering academically rigorous and accessible content.
