Emerald Publishing and Jisc have announced a new agreement that will help authors in humanities and social sciences auto-deposit green open access papers in institutional repositories.
The agreement is one of the first of its kind, bringing leading applied research to members whilst saving time and reducing the administrative effort of tracking down deposit copies.
Building on Emerald’s existing zero embargo green open access policy, the new agreement will mean that authors accepted manuscripts (AAM) will be auto-deposited to their institutional repository via Jisc’s Publications Router when their institution has a subscription to the journal. Articles will be deposited based on the author’s affiliation at the time of submission, under a UKRI OA compliant licence.
At the heart of the partnership is a shared passion for the accessibility of research, user experience and innovation to support unfunded research. The new approach paves the way for easier, open publishing by addressing the changing needs of Jisc members and their researchers.
Emerald Publishing was recently recognised for their innovation, creativity and vision when they were awarded Independent Publisher of the Year and Academic and Professional Publisher of the Year by the Independent Publishers Guild.
