European Research Council and Thomson Reuters sign four-year deal for Web of Knowledge -

Information services provider Thomson Reuters, US, has announced that the pan-European funding organisation, the European Research Council (ERC), has selected Web of Knowledge to support the monitoring and evaluation of its funding programmes.

The ERC signed a four year contract for access to the Thomson Reuters Web of Knowledge platform, which includes multidisciplinary citation data, conference proceedings records and analysis tools from the Web of Science. The Web of Knowledge platform will provide the ERC with access to the world's largest citation databases covering more than 12,000 of the highest impact journals, and over 110,000 conference proceedings records from around the world.

The Web of Knowledge platform was selected to assist the European Research Council Executive Agency (ERCEA) in assessing the impact of ERC funded programmes, as outlined under the 'Ideas Program' of the European Union's Seventh Research Framework Program (FP7).

Thomson Reuters Web of Knowledge is an integrated search and discovery platform that delivers access to the world's leading scholarly information in the sciences, social sciences, arts and humanities, as well as providing metrics and analytical tools for assessing research influence and impact.
