Vital Source Technologies, Inc., an Ingram Content Group company, has announced that Globe University has selected its VitalSource Bookshelf platform to launch e-learning solutions to educators and students throughout the Globe University system. Globe University is a comprehensive system of career colleges, universities and training centers that includes Broadview University and Minnesota School of Business.
Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) standards, a widely-used global technical standard for educational applications, provided a quick and secure way to integrate the innovative content and learning applications of the VitalSource Bookshelf platform into Globe University's curriculum and learning management system Blackboard Learn.
Through the VitalSource Bookshelf platform, Globe University students and faculty will have the flexibility to access e-textbooks through Blackboard Learn, and content can be used online and offline on a variety of operating systems and devices. Students can make notes, highlights, and annotations in their e-textbooks, all of which automatically sync across devices, and can also share and subscribe to notes and highlights from their peers.
The VitalSource Bookshelf platform is the most used e-textbook delivery platform in higher education with more than 3 million users across 6,000 campuses around the world. It uses the latest technology to enhance the learning experience through e-textbooks and digital education. Content from more than 300 of the world's top academic publishers is accessible to Bookshelf users anytime, anywhere, and on a variety of operating systems and devices.
