GOBI® Library Solutions from EBSCO awarded National Joint Consortia Framework Agreement to supply books and e-books -

GOBI Library Solutions from EBSCO (GOBI Library Solutions), a division of EBSCO Information Services, is now an approved supplier of print and e-books for Higher Education, Further Education and Specialist Libraries in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, through the National Joint Consortia Framework Agreement. This supply framework will last for a minimum period of two years. In addition to being awarded status as a print book provider on the framework, GOBI Library Solutions from EBSCO was ranked highly against each criterion for their provision of e-books (including PDA/DDA and Publisher-Direct).

The new agreement offers institutions across the framework access to GOBI®, the leading web-based acquisitions tool for finding, ordering and managing e-books and print books for libraries. The appointment also allows libraries to purchase related supporting services from GOBI Library Solutions, including cataloguing, metadata and physical book processing.

GOBI Library Solutions supports a wide range of acquisition workflow options, including integration with Talis Aspire and provides EDI ordering and invoicing integration with all of the main Library Management Systems. API order integration is currently available with Alma and Sierra, allowing services to be embedded directly in to library workflows in real-time.

GOBI is an online collection development and acquisition tool used by libraries worldwide. With access to more than 15 million titles, including more than 1.5 million e-books, GOBI Library Solutions supplies print books and e-books to thousands of academic, government and medical libraries in more than 70 countries.

According to Gareth Smith, GOBI Library Solutions Vice President of Sales, UK, Ireland and Nordic Countries, the appointment of GOBI Library Solutions to this Framework provides libraries in England, Northern Ireland and Wales with more content choices and access to new workflow solutions.
