Electronic research databases provider EBSCO Publishing (EBSCO), US, has announced that the Health Economic Evaluations Database (HEED), a database containing information on studies of cost-effectiveness and other forms of economic evaluation of medicines, is now available via EBSCOhost. Initially developed as a joint initiative between the Office of Health Economics (OHE) and the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers & Associations (IFPMA), HEED provides comparative analysis of costs and consequences about medicines and other healthcare interventions from around the world for informed decision making.
Designed by health economists for health economists, the content in HEED provides users with comprehensive coverage of economic evaluations. The database includes over 46,000 selected records and bibliographies and data from more than 5,000 journals. HEED also includes, in bibliographic detail, entries from the Wellcome and Battelle databases of economic evaluation literature. About 250 new references are added to HEED with each monthly update.
HEED includes 1,500 English abstracts of non-English evaluations in the main languages (Russian, Korean, Japanese and Chinese). Accessing HEED via EBSCOhost offers users the ability to customise their searches with a variety of search options and limiters and brings an intuitive approach to searching online databases.
