Hindawi and AAAS sign publishing partnership -

Hindawi has announced the signing of a publishing partnership agreement with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Hindawi will support AAAS by providing post-acceptance publishing services for AAAS's new Science Partner Journal publishing program. AAAS anticipates its first partner journal will launch in early 2018.

The Science Partner Journals will use Hindawi's systems, processes, and staff for the management of accepted manuscripts during the production and proofing phase. A new journal platform will also be created to host the published articles. All articles published in the journal will be fully Open Access, using a Creative Commons attribution license (CC-BY 4.0).

Hindawi's Publishing Partnerships program provides expertise and the use of propriety systems to publishers or societies looking to develop their own Open Access offerings. Their in-house systems were designed from scratch with an OA-first philosophy. Partners benefit from the use of these systems while keeping their own identity through the option for bespoke design. The program has already delivered the successful conversion of nine Wiley subscription journals into fully Open Access as part of the Wiley-Hindawi partnership, but the venture with AAAS will see the first new journal launch of the program.
