The Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) has announced a partnership with academic publisher SAGE to produce, distribute, and market all five of its periodicals, beginning in 2011. The publications are: Human Factors: The Journal of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society; Ergonomics in Design: The Quarterly of Human Factors Applications; Journal of Cognitive Engineering and Decision Making; Reviews of Human Factors and Ergonomics; and Proceedings of the HFES Annual Meeting.
Currently, HFES members receive access to Human Factors and Ergonomics in Design as a benefit of membership. Under the terms of the co-publishing arrangement, members of the Society will gain free, full access to three additional titles: Journal of Cognitive Engineering and Decision Making, Proceedings of the HFES Annual Meeting, and Reviews of Human Factors and Ergonomics.
SAGE, which has co-published Human Factors since 2009, will make these titles available via the SAGE Journals Online platform (powered by HighWire). Members will be able to access the entire backfile through a simple login at hfes.org. The past volumes for all five titles, constituting more than 16,000 papers and abstracts, will be migrated to the SAGE collection during the first quarter of 2011.
