Technical professional association IEEE, US, and the Korean Society of Automotive Engineers (KSAE) have announced that the two organisations have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaboratively perform and promote regional and international standardisation. Working together, the IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) and KSAE aim to encourage global communication, promote shared knowledge, and facilitate liaisons between technical groups.
While the MOU is open to multiple activities, the initial focus will be vehicular technologies and smart grid standards. Both organisations expect that fostering closer cooperation in these areas will leverage their mutual expertise and help them contribute to global technology growth.
Under the terms of the MOU, each organisation will freely exchange a variety of information, including details on specific standards development activities in areas of mutual interest, as well as resources such as members' newsletters.
