The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to provide and disseminate scientific information.
This strategic alliance will allow 160 KESLI (Korean Electronic Site License Initiative) members in South Korea to benefit from perpetual access to the IET Digital Library Journals Archive, including instant access to over 97,000 articles. They will also be able to access IET's current journals, alongside non-KESLI members, on a pay per view model, with regular updates. All the data will be hosted on KISTI's server, for ease of in-country access and local language user interface.
The Archive includes over 120 years of peer-reviewed articles in electrical and electronic engineering, telecommunications, computing, power, control, radar, circuits, materials, and related research in IT. The Archive contains examples of seminal research in physics, computing, electrical engineering and associated fields by eminent scientists and researchers, including Lord Kelvin, Thomas Edison, James Clerk Maxwell, Gugliemo Marconi, and Carl Wilhelm Siemens.
All IET full text journals published between 1872 and 1993 are included, as well as the world renowned Electronic Letters with archive content. All articles have fully searchable PDFs, with linked HTML references and citations where available.
The IET's current journals include access from 1994 onwards to 24 Research Journals, 3 Letters Journals (Electronic Letters, Micro & Nano Letters, and Healthcare Technology Letters), Engineering & Technology Magazine, IET Conference Publications, and IET Seminar Digests.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by Dr Young-Seo Park, President of KISTI, and Richard Hollis, Business Development Director at the IET.
