The deal allows IHS to globally sell Synapse's chemicals database and related chemical publications and feature key titles like Industrial Chemicals Thesaurus and Specialty Chemicals Source Book within the IHS Knowledge Collections.
The Synapse in-house database contains thousands of trade names and hundreds of thousands of chemicals and is widely used across chemicals and process industries, oil & gas operations, aerospace, automotive and virtually every industry interacting with various chemicals and chemical compounds. Synapse currently publishes dozens of titles covering lubricants, chemical datasheets and corrosion resistance and is known industry wide for their flagship publications - Industrial Chemicals Thesaurus and Specialty Chemicals Source Book.
The inclusion of Synapse eBooks and Chemicals Database within the IHS Knowledge Collections accelerates knowledge discovery for chemical engineers and technical professionals. With unique federated, question-answer search technology, answers related to chemicals information and insight buried deep within Synapse's publications can now be discovered in up to 70 different content lenses including causes/effects, advantages/disadvantages, definitions and many more relevant to a given search.
