UK-based IMarEST (Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology) has announced a joint venture with BMT Group Ltd. The joint venture, Marine Technology Abstracts (MTA), is projected as an online, searchable database of bibliographic information and summaries of over 100,000 journal articles, reports, books and conference papers, combined from the library holdings of both organisations.
Continually updated with new material and with entries dating back as far as 1940, MTA is seen as gateway to thousands of specialised references in various fields. These include marine engine design, offshore technology, marine safety, naval architecture, marine pollution, shipboard management, and maritime IT and computing. General access to this database is available by subscription through BMT Group.
