Ingram Content Group Inc., has announced a collaboration with SirsiDynix to expand the reach and simplify the discovery and delivery of e-content to more libraries worldwide. Ingram will integrate its MyiLibrary® e-book platform with SirsiDynix eResource Central to provide libraries convenient access to more than 500,000 titles.
SirsiDynix provides a full range of collection development tools for libraries. eResource Central, SirsiDynix's electronic content management solution, provides access to e-books and other eResources across multiple vendors through a single user interface. The addition of MyiLibrary content to eResource Central will strengthen the breadth of content available through eResource Central and substantially increase the number of digital titles that libraries and their patrons can discover and borrow. Titles are expected to be available on eResource Central in the third quarter of 2014.
For libraries, eResource Central enables cost savings and simplifies the process of delivering content from multiple sources and formats to users by managing licensing and access rights; automatically updating metadata for library e-resources; integrating e-resource usage into circulation reporting; and managing electronic content acquisition and delivery.
Thousands of public, academic and professional libraries around the world use Ingram's MyiLibrary platform, and readers enjoy access to more than 500,000 titles. Libraries benefit from a full range of purchasing options, from single-title acquisitions to genre-specific subject collections. It is expected that through integration with SirsiDynix eResource Central, more libraries and readers will enjoy the benefits of the MyiLibrary platform.
