Academic publisher Cambridge University Press, US, has announced that the International Journal of Astrobiology has been accepted into the Thomson Reuters Citation Index.
Coverage started with the first issue of 2009, and the first (2011) Impact Factor will be published in 2012. The journal is included in the Astronomy & Astrophysics, Geosciences (Multidisciplinary), and Biology subject categories.
Launched in 2002, International Journal of Astrobiology provides an international peer-reviewed forum for practitioners in the interdisciplinary field of astrobiology. The journal publishes articles that encourage interaction between scientists world-wide from a diverse range of disciplines. Coverage includes cosmic prebiotic chemistry, planetary evolution, the search for planetary systems and habitable zones, extremophile biology and experimental simulation of extraterrestrial environments, Mars as an abode of life, life detection in our solar system and beyond, the search for extraterrestrial intelligence, the history of the science of astrobiology, as well as societal and educational aspects of astrobiology.
