IOP Publishing (IOPP), the publishing arm of the Institute of Physics, has entered a strategic partnership with China Science Publishing & Media (CSPM), a science publishing group affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Sciences and historically known as Science Press. The collaboration aims to improve the discoverability and accessibility of international research content for researchers in China.
Under the partnership, IOPP will make metadata from its journal portfolio available through SciEngine, CSPM’s digital publishing and knowledge platform. The initiative is intended to help researchers in China discover IOPP’s peer-reviewed publications in physics and related interdisciplinary fields and improve access to international scholarly literature.
Antonia Seymour, Chief Executive Officer of IOPP, noted that the growing volume of available research can make it difficult for researchers to identify relevant and reliable information. She explained that the partnership with CSPM and SciEngine aims to help Chinese researchers discover scientific content and facilitate the exchange of research findings across international communities.
Zhang Fan, VP of CSPM, explained that the collaboration would combine the organizations’ expertise in scholarly publishing and digital platforms to improve the discoverability and accessibility of international research. He added that SciEngine would continue to collaborate with publishers worldwide to support scholarly content discovery and dissemination and strengthen connections between researchers in China and the international research community.
