IOP Publishing, in partnership with Fudan University, is organizing a one-day international workshop titled AI-driven Discoveries: Machine Learning for the Physical Sciences. The event, scheduled for April 27, 2025, will bring together top researchers from across the globe to explore how artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are reshaping the landscape of physical sciences.
The workshop aims to foster collaboration among early-career and established researchers, providing a platform for sharing innovative research and ideas. Distinguished experts will lead plenary talks, including:
• Prof. Kyle Cranmer, University of Wisconsin-Madison
• Prof. Weinan E, Center for Machine Learning Research, Peking University
• Prof. Xingao Gong, Fudan University
• Prof. Hideki Okawa, Institute of High Energy Physics, CAS
• Prof. Dongling Deng, Tsinghua University
• Prof. Berend Smit, EPFL
Key topics will cover a range of cutting-edge issues in the physical sciences, including machine learning for high-energy particle physics, quantum machine learning, big data applications at large-scale facilities, and the discovery of new materials and molecules.
The event will be streamed online via Zoom and KouShare to ensure global accessibility. In-person attendance is available for a fee. Registration for the workshop opened, February 11, via the Zoom registration page.
