IOP Publishing and WYSS launch global forum on Machine Learning for Science -

IOP Publishing, in collaboration with the World Young Scientists Summit (WYSS), has announced the launch of Machine Learning for Science 2025, a two-day hybrid conference dedicated to exploring the interdisciplinary applications of machine learning in scientific research. The event will be open to all participants at no cost.

Scheduled to convene international scientists, early-career researchers, and representatives from industry, the forum aims to facilitate knowledge exchange on the integration of machine learning across a broad spectrum of scientific disciplines. The conference will be co-chaired by faculty from the University of Maryland and the Institute of Physics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The initiative aligns with IOP Publishing’s existing portfolio of machine learning-focused journals, including Machine Learning: Science and Technology, Machine Learning: Engineering, Machine Learning: Health, and Machine Learning: Earth. Reflecting these themes, the conference program will be structured around four core areas: physical sciences, engineering, health, and earth sciences.

Key focus areas include machine learning applications in physics, chemistry, materials science, biology, and autonomous laboratory systems; innovations in engineering systems, automation, and robotics; data-driven approaches in personalized medicine, diagnostics, and healthcare technologies; and applications in climate modeling, environmental monitoring, and sustainable development.
