Open access publisher BioMed Central, UK, has announced that the Italian Journal of Pediatrics has moved to its open access publishing platform. With this move, the journal seeks to increase its global author and readership.
Italian Journal of Pediatrics is the official journal of the Italian Society for Pediatrics. The open access, peer-reviewed online journal includes all aspects of pediatric medicine, and also covers health service and public health research that addresses primary care issues.
The journal provides a forum for pediatricians and other healthcare professionals to report and discuss up-to-the-minute research and expert reviews in the field of pediatric medicine. The journal will continue to develop the range of articles published to enable this invaluable resource to stay at the forefront of the field.
Initially published in 1975 as Rivista Italiana di Pediatria, Italian Journal of Pediatrics is indexed in EMBASE. All articles published in the journal will be archived in PubMed Central, the US National Library of Medicine's full-text repository of life science literature, and also in repositories at the University of Potsdam in Germany, at INIST in France and in e-Depot, the National Library of the Netherlands' digital archive of all electronic publications. The journal is also participating in the British Library's e-journals pilot project, and plans to deposit copies of all articles with the British Library.
